Since 2008, Rihard has led a design studio blending art, craft and design. He also collaborates with Design Studio H2E and inspires new talent through teaching.

Since 2020 he has been dealing with some health issues that now led to complete blindness. Despite the condition, he found a new way to continue working with his passion.

Rihard has collaborated with artists and architects, including designs for Jānis Straupe’s exhibition No-Objects (Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, Riga, 2023) and Life after Death (Pauls Stradiņš Medicine History Museum, Riga, 2024, with Gaiss Architecture Studio).
